Eugene Chadbourne is a Greensboro, North Carolina based musician, known in part for his early career work at the cutting edge of the New York Avant Garde with luminaries such as John Zorn and Anthony Braxton. Chadbourne's early aspirations however included a career in journalism, and his recent memoir "Dreamory" proves just as voluminous as his musical output. DIY tour war stories and Vietnam draft dodging feature heavily in Chadbourne's writings; topics that bring insight to anyone who makes it their life work to resist a seemingly unacceptable social or political state of affairs. This one of a kind, two-part event will bring Chadbourne's writings and his music together. Part 1 of the event will be a reading/solo performance by Chadbourne of selections from his recent book "Dreamory" with musical interventions. Part II will feature a rare performance of Chadbourne with members of his family band, the 13 society.
