ok, here we go!! NIGHTLIGHT is turning 15 years old this month and we'll be celebrating with 5 special shows over 2 weekends showcasing SOME of our best buddies and SOME of the different types of shows that we do at the club. for us it's the beginning of our 6th year at the wheel and we're proud to be part of a chain of people keeping this excellent room for music (which has been serving the community for almost 50 years) going. long live the NIGHTLIGHT!
SARAH LOUISE & TASHI DORJI - we're always excited to host either of these top shelf guitar innovators from the Asheville area. they've both done records for the well known guitar label, Vin Du Select Qualitite among others. it's very exciting to see them collaborate for the first time. do not miss!!
MICHELLE DOVE & BRIAN HOWE - this is the 2nd time we've reached out to Durham-based poet Michelle Dove to contribute a spoken component to a music show. she'll be bringing along long-time triangle arts supporter and poet/artist Brian Howe. "their duo project is a poetic séance that corrals language and sound into chaotic and blurred-genre intervals."
CHRISTENSEN, CROWMEAT, WESTERLUND & TOLL - we'll begin the evening with an improv set from a handful of the triangle's usual suspects: Jil Christensen, "Crowmeat" Bob Pence, Yan Westerlund, and Casey Toll.
$12 / doors @ 8:30 / music @ 9:00 / seated show / all ages
note: All Day Records in Carrboro will be selling passes for the low price of $30 to encourage people who might like to sample each of the 5 nights (or people who'd just like to show their support for the space).
